Wedding preperations are full steam ahead!!

Cor what a week I have had!

My treat making has slowed down a bit this week as I have started on our wedding preparations big time.
So far this week I have made my bouquet, both my daughters smaller bouquets, 8 buttonholes for the men. Arranged 20 flowers ready to go in 10 vases on the tables, put decorated ribbons round 10 vases. Made 4 deliciously cute roses to go in my daughters hair and cut out 80 felt hearts ready to be made into a surprise present for our guests :-)
I told you I had been busy!!

Needless to say the housework has got a bit neglected the last few days so really I should be getting on with some of that but I guess there is always tomorrow for that!

But I am pleased I have made a bit of a dent in my to do list as it does seem a bit long at the moment.

I have however get started quite a bit on my new fabric rimmed flowers which are really stunning and perfect for the allergy sufferer, you can still have beautiful flowers but without the 'Achooo's'.
They can be made in a variety of different colours and look amazing. I have got loads of them all over the house brightening up the place and our little 2 year old loves to sniff them like real flowers bless her :-)

Here is a fabulously zingy green triple button flower and will not break the bank at only £2 each. All you have to do is send me a message with what you want and hey presto I will work my magic for you.

I have sneaked in a beautiful monochrome bracelet that is just £8 including postage.

I had entered a competition this week to make a pair of earrings, I didn't win but had fun choosing and making them. I do like them but am not fully happy with them so I will take them apart and see what else I can make with them. I do however love the photo as you can see just how much snow we had yesterday, quite a lot is the answer!!!!!

Right peeps that is me done for this week so far as I need to get my fed and watered girls into bed.

So take care and speak soon

Happy 1st Birthday to me!!

Wowzers, eeek, whooop :D
Catherynne's Treats is now 1 !!!!!
How did that happen, I think I blinked and all of a sudden it is 1! It feels like no time at all that it has been here and yet it feels like it has always been here if you know what I mean??

I have always been a crafty, makey kinda gal working with working with children making cool stuff with them always trying lots of different ideas out and having fun and it has grown since then but on an adult level of making fun nice things.

I am not too good at just doing nothing, I need to be reading or something (although given a choice never really housework but then is anyone!)
So it was a natural step to graduate into jewellery making and other pretty things like handbags and dollies.
I am going to give you a quick scan of the last year and you can yet me know what you have been doing this last year :-)

I started off by putting together Pandora style bracelets as at the time they interested me. I also started decorating plain hessian jute bags and filled them with delicious bath treats and sold just those two things. I then was getting increasingly fed up of going in the shops and never ever quite finding really pretty jewellery so I kept looking at some of my jewellery and thinking I am sure I can do this. So I typed into Google jewellery making and loads of things came up. What did come up most was a basic jewellery kit of 4 pliers and then various beads of your choice and various findings (the bits that keep everything together). I scoured the internet and asked a few fabulous friends that I had met through Facebook while promoting my page. My favourite page on Facebook and the one page that really inspired me the most to make jewellery was Magpie Jewels. I really love everything that Debbie makes and bought one of her braclelets and still wear it now to this day which says a lot as I only wear my own jewellery now apart from the one I have from Debbie :-)
I asked her where she did some of her buying from and then went shopping, well on line shopping courtesy of the fabulous Internet and not having to have to leave my own comfy sofa :-)
I put in an order for a pliers kit and various bits and bobs and I was off. Bitten totally by the beading bug and have not stopped since.

My styles have changed a lot over the course of this year as in the very beginning I was simply stringing beautiful beads onto various stringing materials such like tiger tail wire which is very strong and can be made in loads of fabby colours. My favourite being shocking pink and black. Threading beads alternatively onto these two gives a very pretty effect!
I have graduated onto different charm bracelets putting various beads onto chain for a beautiful bracelet. To my most recent amazing discovery of Irish waxed linen. A fantastic thin cord that can be knotted in amazing ways.
I talked a bit about a website last week called Smitten Beads and they have been very responsible for my changing and evolving styles depending on what amazing beads they have in.
I am currently looking at some fabulous small peanut shaped beads that when threaded together sit all wiggly and cool!

What has not changed in this year is that I totally love beads, fabric and all things beautiful.
I love making beautiful things, spending my time making things that other people enjoy and will treasure. I am currently filling up my bookshelf with magazine's and books with the most amazing designs in so that my own jewellery is always up to date and fresh and interesting.
I am however always on a learning curve so if something does not sell I can very easily take it to pieces and re jig it to make something much more delicious and amazing!

So to mark the occasion of Catherynne's Treats being a whopping 1 I am going to have a giveaway of a mystery gift :-)
All you need to do is subscribe to my blog and pop your name in the comments down below here telling me you have subscribed and why you would like to win and on Wednesday 20th of March at 8PM I will choose someone to win a mystery gift, or even gifts who knows but it will be a total surprise though!!

So get your names on the bottom here and tell me why you want to win :-)

Filling up my Etsy shop and amazing friends

Hey lovelies :-)

I totally forgot to write my blog last week eeek!!
Where did the week go???

Anyhoooo I am back on track now and raring to go.  I have got lots of fabby news to share with you this week.

Quite a while ago I joined a group on Facebook called Bead Smitten and it is a collection of fantastic customers from an amazing website called Smitten Beads it has THE most amazing beads on and I totally love looking through all the different sections thinking what I could make with everything :-)
It is a place to showcase the work we make with the products from the site. My jewellery making skills have grown so much since being accepted into the group and I am now making things I would never have dreamed that I would make a year ago when I first started putting together Pandora style bracelets for my page!!!

I have also made a lot of amazing new friends that all make truly amazing jewellery that is all so very very different to one another!
I also love that I have met other people that love beads as much as I do and understand about having 'those beads in your stash that are just sooo pretty you can't do anything but look at them lovingly till you can decide what to do with them' I am not alone in this whoo hoo!!

We are all together in a group blog if you want to go and check us all out Smitten Bead and Jewellery There are some very very talented ladies over there!

It is also forcing me to fill up my Etsy Catherynne's Treats shop as everyone else has so many things in there but I always seem to forget to put things in it whenever I make new things! Oops, (note to self must remember to put things in Etsy when I make funky new things)!!!

Anyway enough of me nattering for a bit now and I will show you some of my new makes :-)

This is a delicious knotted wooden beaded bracelet that uses fabulous new beads and is finished off with a very old leather look button as a clasp, it is available here in my Etsy Shop and is just £8 including postage, a true bargain <3
A style I would never have had a go at if it not for the lovely smitteners :-)

This is a lovely antique gold plate owl necklace that is also over in my Etsy Shop ( did you see what I did there, 2 Etsy links go me ) and this is a true bargain too :-)

Oooo I almost forgot to tell you that this week, well actually I think it was last week ( I told you the weeks are just mingling into one lately as it is now March too very big eeek ) I got my Odd Sox in the post.
She is just the most amazing grump ever and we have named her Miss Purple Grumpilicious Scrumplebottom, or just Miss Purple for short!
Is she just THE most amazing thing ever, I totally love her and she is all mine, my girls are NOT allowed to play with her. She lives on my side of the bed on my bedside cabinet with her babbit on her knee, her babbit by the way does not have a name, she didn't want one so she is just called 'Miss Purple's Babbit'.

If you keep an eye on my Facebook Page you will be able to keep up with her adventures of the treats household :-)

Right lastly before I sign off and go and feel very very sorry for myself as I have been infected by a lurgy this weekend and have been sneezing my head off almost every 5 seconds and going through almost a life time supply of loo roll, I have had a go at a whole new craft this week.
I have been making some fabric wire rimmed flowers which I totally love and a whole new load of wire popped through my door on Saturday morning so as soon as I feel back to normal I will be flooding my page with fabulous flowers that do not die and always look stunning unless of course your cat is sick on them or something crazy :-/

Are they not just fabulous! These were just some sizes and colours to faff about with with my first pack of wire but I will soon have all the sizes and fabrics just right so flowers will be coming right at you very soon yay :-)

Right so enough of the yacking now Catherynne and more of the feeling sorry for yourself on the sofa under a blanket!!
